And pictures too!

Okay, I guess it's about time I write a blog post, it has been a month now since I have been back from the wonderful country of Nepal. I'm sorry I have not written about my trip yet, in my defense I came back and started school right away and it took some adjusting from going from Nepali life to American life and on top of that...school. But that is not an excuse, I have had a month to write, and I have not done so. I am going to attempt to write a series of(at least 4) blog posts summarizing what we did each week while we were in Nepal. Starting with the next post which will come sometime this weekend.

But I do want to thank all of you who committed to praying for me and my team while we were over there. We could definitely feel the power of prayers on our trip, and I know it's because we had so many wonderful people in America praying for us...so thank you! Also, everyone who gave to my financially for my trip, I can't even begin to tell you how much that meant to me! Everything I experienced and went through and witnessed over there was because of all of you, and I wish there was some way I could show you what it means to me that you would help me go on this amazing journey.

I can't believe it has been a month already since I have been back. The first week was very weird for me being back, it was like a culture shock just to come back into my own country, but it was a good feeling in a way. And I am so upset with myself that I have allowed that feeling, and Nepal to become a fading memory. Of course I will remember Nepal forever, but I wish it was still as real and alive as it was right when I got back. Maybe it's not supposed to be.

But here is what you all have to look forward to if you keep coming back to read my next couple of blogs: 14 hour plane rides, Hong Kong, first night in Nepal, monkeys, bartering, Nepali airports, sketchy and bumpy 15 passenger plane rides going through 26,000 ft mountains, Hindu temples, hiking an 18,000 ft pass, trekking the Himalayas, new Nepali friends, Yak's, Horses, 100% degree weather with 500% humidity, the most amazing childrens home EVER, the most amazing children EVER (this is not an exaggeration), being sick in a third world country, Nepali church and Tibetan church, and OH so much more! You can check out my pictures NOW at www.flickr.com/daniellevarey - *note: they are in reverse order of my trip, so the pictures you see first are really what happened at the end of my trip, therefore the last pictures you see were the beginning of the trip. Enjoy!

Special thanks to my mom, who is by the way the best mom in the world. Because she was tracking and keeping up with my trip to the fullest, and then took the time and energy to write blogs on my blog for all of you to read and stay updated with me. She didn't have to do that for you all but she did, which I am thankful for, so thanks mom!

We so enjoyed your tour of Nepal through the eyes of your camera and your explanation of the trip given at your grandmother's 90th Bday Party. I've gone back through all the pictures with renewed interest, and all I can say is wow!
What a great experience and an eye opening adventure that you'll treasure for a lifetime. May God help you retain all the great things that you did on the trip.
