Good morning, everyone! We want to fill you in on how the Nepal team is doing. They are in the middle of their trek and just spent the last few days in Manang doing some outreach. The team made it over the 18,000 foot pass which is quite an accomplishment! The next day one member of the team, Brooks Peppin, began experiencing some difficulty breathing. When the team arrived in Manang, he was able to be seen by a doctor there and diagnosed with high altitude sickness. Though his illness was never life-threatening and his condition stable, we felt it wisest that he be taken back to Kathmandu where he could recover fully and be able to re-join the team at the end of the trek for the remainder of the trip. He is safely in Kathmandu and doing fine.
The rest of the team is, of course, sad to say good-bye to their teammate for a few days but looking forward to finishing the trek. They are a little tired but otherwise feeling healthy, strong, and in good spirits. Please keep everyone in your prayers as they finish up these last few days in the Himalayas.
