Greetings from Hong Kong, China!

Okay, I have to make this quick! I'm writing this blogpost from Hong Kong, China! I cannot believe I am here...in a different country...on the opposite side of the world! We had a 10 hour layover in Hong Kong today and came out into the city before we catch our flight to Nepal. So much to write about and so little time! Okay, the plane ride over here was AMAZING! I never thought that I would enjoy a 14 hour plane ride. I took some nyquil stuff before the flight got going so I was actually knocked out for most of the plane ride, woke up to find there were only 6 hours left of it. This plane was so amazing, it has tv's on the back of every seat so each person can pick what they watch, so I watched a couple of tv shows and a movie and before I knew it we were landing in China. Ah, there is a man standing over my shoulder monitoring my time on this internet so I have to make this even quicker. China is such a culture shock to me! I have never been outside the country and now I am in a country with a bunch of short people that stare at you. I have never been the one stared at for being American, and it's not a bad thing, its just weird and different. I can't read any of the signs or anything either. Even this keyboard I am typing on is all in Chinese. Okay, and for "breakfast" we ate at this local restaurant and I can't believe some of the food I ate there! I would just like to have seen how my mom or brother would have handled some of that food. The texture of most of it was just awful, I'm hoping Nepal has some more basic foods.

Okay I really do have to wrap this up. Don't count on this on a regular basis, I just thought since I could get on the internet that I would at least update something so my family will know we made it...almost. One more 5 hour plane ride and I will be in NEPAL! I love you mom, and dad, and Jake...and the rest of the fam reading this. Mom, I just want you to know that my pack was actually one of the smallest and lightest on the team ;-) I was quite happy about that. Okay, I am done now. My mom will post updated e-mails as she receives them from my team leaders. Thanks for reading! Keep me, my team, and Nepal in your prayers. Thanks!

So happy to hear you were able to experience some of Hong Kong before you continue on to Nepal. As I write this comment you are (hopefully) on a plane to Nepal.
Miss you Danielle. Love you!
