Roller Derby

It has been a great couple of weeks! I was on spring break for a week which was so nice and relaxing to have a week off of school and just hang out and not worry about anything. I had a birthday and turned 21! That was exciting! I went out to dinner with my roommates and a few friends and it was such a great time. Then last weekend I was able to go home and celebrate my birthday with my friends up there as well as my family. I just love birthdays! My parents gave me for my birthday a trip to go to Washington DC, which is the one place in the United States that I am DYING to go to. So I will finally be able to go, and go to the Holocaust Museum and other places in that city. I cannot wait!

This past weekend I also had a team meeting for Nepal. It was great to see my group again and catch up and get my focus back on what I have been called to do. I had not seen my team in about a month so it was a nice meeting on Sunday night. I found out that I have raised around $2,100. Which is so so great! Thank you everyone who has donated to me, I can't even express how appreciative I am that you would help send me to Nepal for a month. My heart is already so invested in the country of Nepal and the Nepalese people that I can't wait to go over there and actually be God's hands instead of just praying for them, which is all I can do right now. Satan certainly has his hand on that country and I cannot wait for our team to go over there in 11 different forms and just bring light to the country. I ask that anyone reading this be praying for me and my team and the country of Nepal.

I feel like the past month or so my heart has been distant from God. I hate when I get in those ruts where I feel like I'm living my life for me and not allowing God to be the center of it. The past 3 days have been very eye opening for me and have helped me get my focus back on where it should be, Jesus Christ! I'm glad to have God working with me through things again rather than just dealing with them myself. It's so much better this way.

I have to get off to class. I'm so sick of all my classes this semester that I dread going to every single one of them. Yuck! Luckily the semester is almost over! About 6 more weeks! Yay!

Congratulations once again on your 21st birthday and being on target financially for Nepal.

Washington D.C. - wow! Great gift!

Happy to hear you are focusing on God - your top priority. I don't know why it is so easy to lose that focus sometimes - well acutally I do!

I've been using some prayer beads given to me by a friend. It helps me stay centered on God. Even if I am not holding them, or praying with them, even seeing them centers me.

Blessings!

I parrot your grandma’s expression, “Washington D.C. - wow! Great gift!” And I’m envious! I’ve only been there once for a meeting when I was in the Air Force. We only got a couple of hours on the Mall and inside the Smithsonian. I’ve always wanted to go back and see everything … someday! If you’re by the Vietnam Wall, you might look up my friend and buddy from Vietnam. His name was Dick Yeend. I’ve heard the Holocaust Museum is fabulous. When do you think you’ll go? You certainly have our prayers and will have special ones during the time you are over there. I wish I were still in contact with one of the engineers that rode with us in the vanpool when I worked at Caltrans. He was from Nepal. He could have given me some pointers and suggestions for your trip. Glad to hear things are coming together for the trip. Hang in there with your classes. It’s almost over and then you can concentrate on Nepal and all that’ll come with the trip. Continue to stay close to Him Dani. Proverbs 3: 5-6 has gotten me through my life. Hopefully you can use it to make your life complete too for He cares for you.
